PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To provide exceptional guest experience, manage check-in and check-out processes, and perform night audit functions to guarantee accurate financial transactions in accordance with established procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Certificate in Hospitality & Tourism, Business Administration, or Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in front desk, reception, night audit, or guest service role within the hospitality industry.
- Experience in room revenue control, cash handling, accounting procedures, and general administration.
- Computer literate (MS Office & operational systems).
- Knowledge of Opera and MICROS systems (advantageous).
- Multilingual (German, French, Portuguese, etc.) is an added advantage.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Welcome guests and manage check-in/check-out processes while providing exceptional service throughout their stay.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements in a courteous and professional manner.
- Verify reservations, allocate rooms, and coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure smooth arrivals and departures.
- Maintain accurate billing by processing payments, posting charges, verifying folios, and managing credit and voucher transactions.
- Perform daily night audit duties, balance ledgers, and compile financial and occupancy reports.
- Monitor security systems during night shifts and respond to emergency situations appropriately.
- Support the reservations process by handling pre-registrations, room blocking, and communicating guest details to relevant departments.
- Promote lodge facilities, dining options, and experiences to enhance guest satisfaction and drive upselling.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, safety, and hygiene standards, and participate in identifying and reporting potential hazards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and ensure the equipment is in good working condition.
