To ensure the cleanliness and proper organization of the dining and kitchen areas. Maintain all surfaces, areas and operating equipment under control according to Health, Safety and Hygiene standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 11
- 1 year’s experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of HACCP.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment (manual and machine).
- Ensure correct chemical levels, water temperature, and hygiene documentation.
- Keep kitchen, storeroom, and dining areas clean and organized.
- Empty and reline bins; maintain waste and dumpster areas.
- Sanitize workstations, tools, and surfaces according to health standards.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and stocking goods and supplies.
- Ensure safe storage of chemicals and compliance with HACCP requirements.
- Report hazards, safety issues, or non-compliance immediately.
- Assist in other areas during busy periods or staff shortages.
