PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:     

To ensure the cleanliness and proper organization of the dining and kitchen areas. Maintain all surfaces, areas and operating equipment under control according to Health, Safety and Hygiene standards.                                                

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 11
  • 1 year’s experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of HACCP.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment (manual and machine).
  • Ensure correct chemical levels, water temperature, and hygiene documentation.
  • Keep kitchen, storeroom, and dining areas clean and organized.
  • Empty and reline bins; maintain waste and dumpster areas.
  • Sanitize workstations, tools, and surfaces according to health standards.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and stocking goods and supplies.
  • Ensure safe storage of chemicals and compliance with HACCP requirements.
  • Report hazards, safety issues, or non-compliance immediately.
  • Assist in other areas during busy periods or staff shortages.
