PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To deliver exceptional beverage service to guests, ensuring a memorable and world class experience. This role involves preparing and serving drinks according to established standards, managing bar operations, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and enhancing revenue through effective upselling.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Grade 10 qualification (minimum)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Bartender/Barman
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Solid beverage and wine knowledge
• Passion for mixology and creativity in crafting cocktails that reflect the seasons, trends, and guest preferences
• Knowledge of MICROS will be an added advantage
• Understanding of Cost of Sales and stocktaking processes

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Guest Experience & Service

• Welcome and engage guests warmly, ensuring a friendly, professional, and authentic service experience.

Bartending Operations

• Prepare and serve all beverages, including cocktails, to the highest standards.
• Promote beverage specials and upselling to maximize guest satisfaction and outlet revenue.
• Maintain bar setup, equipment, and mise-en-place according to standards.
• Manage bar inventory, conduct daily stock counts, rotate stock, and minimize wastage.
• Ensure accurate cash handling, billing, and compliance with standard operating procedures.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

• Adhere to all HACCP, health, and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized bar always.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, serviced, and switched off after use.
• Actively identify and report hazards and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
