PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  

 

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all dairy products meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. They oversee quality control processes, conduct audits, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and implement continuous improvement practices on the dairy farm in Mariental.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

 

•    BSc food science and technology/ Microbiology degree. 
•    Sound knowledge of ISO Quality Control and Food Safety systems.
•    One year experience in a food manufacturing environment 

 

 

KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

 

•    Collect, test and record samples as per sampling plan to monitor conformance to specifications
•    Conduct hygiene and safety analysis and tests on  machine swabs, hand swabs, food safety swabs
•    Re-sample all out of specification results and report timeously to Manager Quality Assurance and Manager Milk
•    Verify, record and account for all equipment/instruments used in the lab
•    Accurately record details of all results on quality control charts and report deviations to Manager Quality Assurance and Manager Milk
•    Monitor the quality of milk from milking to collection
•    Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices are maintained across all production and animal handling areas.
•    Conduct routine inspections and sampling of milk and other products for microbial and chemical testing.
•    Implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
•    Engage with and support Quality and Milking teams to optimize the raw milk quality and processes in line with ISO & Food Standards.
•    Support with investigations and closing of NCRs raised on the farm
•    Conduct Quality Assurance Inspections and spot checks in the milking parlour according to the ND Quality Raw Milk Supplier Inspection and immediately report deviations from specifications to Supervisor Quality Control & Systems and Quality Assurance Manager.
•    Train farm staff on hygiene practices, product quality handling, and SOP adherence.
