PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:   

To support the Cost Controller in managing all aspects of the lodge’s financial controls. This includes tracking income and expenses, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.                                                           

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

• Diploma in Finance or Accounting
• 3 years in a financial role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong financial planning, compliance & risk knowledge and Cash flow management skills.
• Experience with financial reporting and cost control.
• Knowledge of MICROS, OPERA and SAP will be an added advantage
• Computer literate (MS Office & Systems)"        

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
• Ensure all cash takings are deposited and the Banking Report is updated daily.
• Review night audit packs and perform daily bank reconciliation for Cost Controller and General Manager review.
• Conduct regular audits of inventories and assist in inventory management.
• Verify that theoretical stock on hand matches physical stock on hand.
• Review daily product intake and ensure accurate pricing and quantity of goods received.
• Track and verify all sources of income including room revenue, food and beverage sales, and other services.
• Reconcile income reports with bank statements and other financial records.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining revenue forecasts.
• Ensure a robust accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of transactions and reports with company policies and procedures (MICROS & OPERA billings).
• Demonstrate a sound awareness of policies and procedures, ensuring the dissemination of information to all team members.
• Report, and where possible handle, cases of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, or contravention of regulations. Attend to any reasonable request made by the Cost Controller
