PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Execute thorough cleaning, sanitization, and preparation of guest rooms, guaranteeing adherence to elevated hygiene standards, and ensuring optimal comfort for incoming guests. Achieve an exceptional guest experience by performing diverse cleaning tasks promptly and courteously, attending promptly to guest requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • 1 experience as a room attendant and\or cleaner in in 4* or 5* luxury hotel/lodge environment.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and use of cleaning equipment, linen and chemicals.
  • Excellent knowledge of culinary arts and a passion for creating new and innovative dishes
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Clean, sanitize and disinfect all guest room areas thoroughly, encompassing the bathroom, bedroom, and living space. Perform dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and changing of linens as necessary.
  • Collect and transport room service trays from guestroom hallways or corridors to back landings, coordinating pick-up requests.
  • Uphold cleanliness in designated areas, adhering to hotel/lodge standards to eliminate water marks, stains, or odours.
  • Utilize correct chemicals and appropriate quantities on specific surfaces following established protocols to guarantee optimal cleanliness and safety.
  • Articulate and maintain developed standards, product knowledge, and grooming protocols effectively.
  • Replenish tea, coffee, and other supplies as per hotel standards.
  • Refill amenities such as toiletries, tissues, soaps, and towels.
  • Maintain a stock of room supplies, such as toiletries and linens, and ensure they are replenished as needed.
  • Follow established cleaning protocols and safety standards to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for guests.
  • Check rooms for maintenance issues, report any missing or damaged items to the Housekeeping Supervisor and own the responsibility to ensure that the items are replaced or repaired to create an uninterrupted or impaired stay for the Guest
  • Adhere to all regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards, policies and procedures.
  • Champion the identification and reporting of hazards, evaluation or risks, and design and implementation of hazard and control measures.
  • Constantly monitor and check the quality-of-service delivery towards the guests and make sure the processes are speaking to the brand and the provided quality guideline.
