PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To produce a variety of high‑quality and fresh confectionery products by following production recipes, applying creativity, and meeting customer needs while contributing to the profitability of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• National Senior Level Certificate (Grade 11/12).
• Minimum 2–3 years bakery or confectionery production experience, specialising in cakes and decoration.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Additional certification or training in Bakery / Confectionery.
• Knowledge of recipes, product ranges, ingredients, and stock rotation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Customer Orders

• Receive and record customer orders accurately.
• Prepare orders timeously and according to specifications.

Production

• Produce confectionery items according to recipes and production schedules.
• Ensure correct scaling, portioning, and yield.
• Deliver fresh, high‑quality products consistently.
• Perform stock rotation (FIFO) in coolers and on shelves.

Housekeeping, Health & Safety

• Maintain bakery hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ensure ovens and machines are operated correctly and safely.
• Clean and service equipment regularly and switch off appliances after use.
• Maintain a clean work area at all times (“clean as you go”).

General Support

• Protect confidentiality of recipes, documents, and trade information.
• Support bakery department during busy periods or staff shortages.
• Attend meetings, training sessions, workshops, and stocktakes.
• Follow all company standards, policies, and procedures.
