To perform preventative maintenance schedules and general repairs and maintenance tasks in a prompt, safe and efficient manner.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Grade 12 plus a higher certificate/Trade Certificate
- 3 years practical experience in lodge/hotel setup.
- Knowledge on repairing plumbing systems, fixing company equipment or tools and testing room appliances and furniture to ensure they work properly.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, demonstrating a welcoming and attentive demeanor.
- Constantly monitor and check the quality-of-service delivery towards the guests and make sure the processes are speaking to the brand and the provided quality guidelines.
- Execute scheduled maintenance tasks in guest rooms to prevent potential issues and ensure the continued functionality of room features and amenities.
- Conduct touch-up painting as needed to maintain the appearance and condition of walls, furniture, and other surfaces in guest rooms and common areas.
- Verify that all appliances provided in guest rooms, such as TVs, coffee makers, and refrigerators, are present and operational. Address any malfunctions promptly.
- Replace light fixtures as necessary to maintain adequate lighting levels and ensure guest comfort and safety.
- Regularly inspect grout lines and caulking in bathrooms and other areas for signs of wear or damage.
- Perform repairs or replacements as needed to prevent water damage and maintain cleanliness.
- Adhere to established preventative maintenance procedures and standard guidelines when repairing guest rooms to ensure consistency and quality in maintenance work.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on room equipment as required, including tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls to maintain guest satisfaction and safety.
- Prioritize and address job cards promptly to meet guest expectations and minimize disruptions during their stay.
- Report any technical faults or maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly to facilitate timely resolution and prevent guest inconvenience.
- Keep work areas and storerooms organized, clean, and free of clutter to promote efficiency and safety in maintenance operations.
