PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To Greet and welcome all guest to the hotel and relieve guests of their luggage on arrival. You will ensure that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are always demonstrated, and that all guest requests are dealt with in a prompt and courteous manner. In Addition to assist guests with luggage, Porters are also responsible to collect and distribute post, parcels. And deal with general enquiries and ensuring the lobby and forecourt areas are always clean and tidy.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES
- Grade 12 plus Higher Certificate
- Knowledge of OPERA
- 1- 2 years porter/concierge experience in a 4-star establishment
- A code B drivers license will be considered an added advantage.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Greet all guests in the reception area in a warm and professional manner, making them feel welcome and anticipating their needs before they arise.
- Maintain a friendly attitude, welcoming and acknowledging each guest with a smile and a friendly verbal greeting in line with the sequence of service.
- Maintain a presence at the Concierge/Reception desk or in the lobby to be ready to assist guests, colleagues, and visitors when requested.
- Ensure collection and delivery of guest luggage and equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
- Inspect guest rooms for cleanliness and ensure adequate supplies, informing guests of room amenities.
- Ensure the efficient delivery and collection of group luggage and confirm with guests that all luggage has been accounted for.
- Assist with answering the telephone and taking messages, transferring calls or dealing with enquiries.
- Ensure that Left/Stored luggage forms are filled out and duly signed by the guest and also explain all applicable policies to the guest.
- Constantly monitor and check the quality-of-service delivery towards the guests and make sure the processes are speaking to the brand and the provided quality guideline.
- Respond to guest requests and queries providing a knowledgeable, efficient, and helpful information service.
• Perform reasonable duties as and when requested by management.
• Ensure that all mise-en-place is done prior to guest arrival
• Adhere to grooming standards
• Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of all golf carts
- Keep confidential documents and trade secrets of the Company secure.
- Works closely with all relevant departments to ensure that high standards of service are delivered.
