PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

 

To uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across all facets of Midgard Lodge's public areas, ensuring an immaculate and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Grade 12
  • 1 year experience as a public area cleaner in 4* or 5* luxury hotel/lodge environment.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and use of cleaning equipment, linen and chemicals.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation of lobbies, corridors and other public areas ensuring a tidy appearance.
  • Clean and maintain various surfaces such as floors, carpets, windows, and furniture using appropriate cleaning equipment and solutions.
  • Hand over lost property to the security department, meticulously maintaining a register and ensuring safekeeping until claimed by the rightful owner.
  • Follow established cleaning protocols and safety standards to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for guests.
  • Adhere to all regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards, policies and procedures.
  • Report, and where possible handle, cases of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, or contravention of regulations.
  • Champion the identification and reporting of hazards, evaluation or risks, and design and implementation of hazard and control measures.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory of products as per laid down standards & procedures.
  • Utilise correct chemicals and appropriate quantities on specific surfaces following established protocols to guarantee optimal cleanliness and safety.
  • Maintain a stock of room supplies, such as toiletries and linens, and ensure they are replenished as needed.
  • Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks such as shampooing carpets, polishing floors, or cleaning windows.
  • Address all guest complaints courteously and professionally, providing feedback and escalating issues to management as necessary.
