QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Grade 12
- 1 year experience as a public area cleaner in 4* or 5* luxury hotel/lodge environment.
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and use of cleaning equipment, linen and chemicals.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation of lobbies, corridors and other public areas ensuring a tidy appearance.
- Clean and maintain various surfaces such as floors, carpets, windows, and furniture using appropriate cleaning equipment and solutions.
- Hand over lost property to the security department, meticulously maintaining a register and ensuring safekeeping until claimed by the rightful owner.
- Follow established cleaning protocols and safety standards to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for guests.
- Adhere to all regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards, policies and procedures.
- Report, and where possible handle, cases of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, or contravention of regulations.
- Champion the identification and reporting of hazards, evaluation or risks, and design and implementation of hazard and control measures.
- Maintain equipment and inventory of products as per laid down standards & procedures.
- Utilise correct chemicals and appropriate quantities on specific surfaces following established protocols to guarantee optimal cleanliness and safety.
- Maintain a stock of room supplies, such as toiletries and linens, and ensure they are replenished as needed.
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks such as shampooing carpets, polishing floors, or cleaning windows.
- Address all guest complaints courteously and professionally, providing feedback and escalating issues to management as necessary.
