PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To create unforgettable experiences for guests by leading guided tours and safaris at Midgard Lodge, delivering insightful and engaging information on the lodge's history, the local environment, and cultural heritage. Ensure guests' safety and promote the Lodge and O&L Leisure products.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism (Level 3/Level4) or NATH certificate in guiding
- 2 years’ experience with guiding groups of people in Namibia.
- Drivers licence code C1 with PDP
- Experience in sharing knowledge of fauna and flora with both local as well as foreign guests
- Computer Literacy – will be an added advantage
- Knowledge on flora and fauna
- Knowledge of local and international languages will be an added advantage
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Welcome tourist groups warmly and escort them on guided walks through the bush surrounding the property, as well as guided game drives.
- Report all service delivery failings and guest feedback to management in the event of the need for guest compensation
- Maintain records of tours, guest feedback, and any incidents or accidents that occur during activities.
- Prepare pre-arranged drink and snack setups for guests, ensuring they are correctly prepared for activities.
- Conduct scheduled & guided tours as requested by reservations.
- Responsible for all vehicle safety and guest safety by conduct safety briefings and be responsible for daily game vehicles checks and cleaning.
- Assist the reception with attending to guests where necessary.
- Maintain vehicle safety and guest safety during duty, adhering to Namibian road traffic laws and maintaining proper road safety conduct.
- Accompany guests to the airport and assist in maintaining areas where tours may take place.
- Inspect all game drive and cycling routes and report all faults to maintenance and inspect game drive areas including all waterholes, and sights.
- Control all activity OE and keep record of such.
- Responsible for tracking all game and their wellbeing.
- Monitor and report broken game fences, pouching activities.
