PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Take orders and serve food and beverages to guests at tables in the restaurant outlet.To deliver unforgettable unique guest experience, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Grade 12.
• Previous experience in a restaurant operation as waiter within a 4* or 5*Hotel and Restaurant practice.
• Computer Literacy: MS Office, MICROS, Materials Control.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Communicate dining or order details to the kitchen staff to ensure that orders are prepared correctly and delivered in a timely manner.
• Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring dietary preferences or restrictions are noted and communicated to the kitchen as well as punching this in on the POS system.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
• Serve food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
• Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
• Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
• Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pour the wines for guests.
• Demonstrate exceptional level of professionalism, maturity, and emotional intelligence always.
• Maintain the TLV (Temperature, lights, and Volume) to ensure guest experiences of luxury standards.
• Upsell additional menu items, desserts, and beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase revenue.
• Provide personalized guest service based on preferences and ensures an ever-lasting bond is created with guests.
• Monitor table turnover and ensure that tables are cleared and cleaned promptly after guests leave.
• Continuously update knowledge of food and beverage offerings to provide informed recommendations to guests.
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, take them to kitchen for cleaning.
