PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To capture, process and dispatch all damaged, redundant and expired stock to the respective suppliers in order to minimise stock‑holding days and support effective stock management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• National Senior Secondary Certificate (Gr 11/12).
• Minimum 1–2 years food retail experience.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Retail administration and/or receiving experience.
• Certificate in Wholesale & Retail.
• ARCH knowledge and experience with supplier relationships.
• Numerical ability, computer literacy and invoicing knowledge.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Return to Supplier (RTS) & Stock Handling

• Receive all damaged, expired and redundant stock.
• Sort stock according to suppliers and categories.
• Return stock to suppliers with valid reasons (breakages, expiry dates, first‑grade issues, etc.).
• Separate returnable stock from waste.
  
  

Administration

• Transfer stock from the sales floor to the RTM cage using the ARCH system.
• Prepare and submit claims to suppliers.
• Ensure all supporting RTM notes, Goods Return Notes and claim forms are submitted daily.
• Follow up with suppliers and maintain accurate documentation.

Dispatching

• Compare physical stock with claim forms before dispatch.
• Ensure drivers and receiving controllers verify and sign off stock quantities.

Housekeeping, Health & Safety

• Maintain order, cleanliness and hygiene in RTM areas.
• Comply with all health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ensure crates are clean and supplier details are visible.

General & Ad Hoc

• Protect the confidentiality of company documents and trade information.
• Provide relief and support in the department when required.
• Attend stocktakes, training, meetings and workshops.
• Adhere to all company policies, standards and procedures.
