PURPOSE
To produce a variety of fresh, high-quality meat products by cutting, processing, and preparing meat according to required standards and production recipes, ensuring customer satisfaction and supporting store profitability.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
National Trade Certificate or relevant butchery qualification
Minimum 3 years’ butchery/blockman experience
Strong knowledge of: Meat processing and cutting, Meat classification, and Recipes and product preparation
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Meat Preparation & Production
- Prepare and cut meat products according to required standards and recipes
- Ensure product quality meets company and customer expectations
- Prepare customer orders timeously
Stock Control & Operations
- Manage stock levels, defrosting, and preparation of products
- Assist with stock takes and stock control processes
- Monitor waste and ensure efficient stock usage
Customer Service
- Assist customers with product queries and recommendations
- Ensure excellent service delivery in the butchery department
Health, Safety & Hygiene
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and used correctly
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
