PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To control the overall operation of the inventory department by correctly ordering of stock and resolving inventory discrepancies in order to maintain agreed stock levels.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- National Senior Level Certificate.
- NQF level 4 Certificate and at least 4 years’ retail experience of which 2 years must be in inventory environment.
ADVANTAGEOUS
- NQF level 5 in Business Administration / Procurement / Logistics and Supply chain.
- SAP / ARCH experience.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plan and execute store stock counts accurately and on schedule.
- Verify and confirm the correctness of all interdepartmental transfers.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Report any non-compliance issues to store management.
- Review and validate daily price updates against the official price change report.
- Distribute updated pricing information to all department heads.
- Conduct weekly spot checks to ensure tills reflect updated prices.
- Ensure sufficient stock levels for all promotional products and escalate supply issues to management.
- Liaise with management and suppliers to maintain product availability.
- Maintain agreed stock levels across all departments.
- Coordinate and oversee stock-taking processes to ensure accurate and systematic counting.
- Supervise the capturing of stock counts to guarantee accuracy.
- Generate and analyse variance reports, investigating discrepancies as required.
