PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Liquor Store Supervisor is responsible for controlling, coordinating, and facilitating all daily operations of the liquor store in accordance with company standards and procedures. The role focuses on driving and maximising sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting overall business profitability.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Certificate
- At least 3 years’ experience in a retail environment
ADAVANTAGEOUS
- Supervisory experience in retail
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Sales & Budget Management: Achieve monthly turnover targets, control shrinkage and waste, and maintain departmental budgets through effective planning and resource utilisation.
- Stock & Merchandising Control: Manage stock levels, ordering, receiving, rotation, and product quality. Ensure full range availability, correct promotional planning, and maintain merchandising and QDVP4 standards across the department.
- Operational & Cash Control: Oversee all till transactions, ensure accurate cash‑ups, conduct daily spot checks, manage floats, perform daily balancing and banking, and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Customer Experience: Support a high standard of customer service by resolving queries promptly and ensuring smooth front‑line operations.
- Inventory & Stocktake Management: Prepare for stocktakes, liaise with relevant managers, and investigate and resolve variances to maintain accurate inventory control.
- People Management: Plan and schedule weekly staff schedules, ensure staff have the necessary tools and support, and contribute to overall team readiness and performance.
