PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To supervise the overall operation of the non-fresh departments, inventory and manage the administration of the store as per the required standard and procedures, to promote and maximize sales and increase customer service to enhance business profitability.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in business administration / management or Retail Management, or equivalent and at least 5 years retail managerial experience.
- Grade 12 Certificate and a minimum of 5 years’ retail experience of which 3 must be at management level.
- Code B Driver’s License.
PREFERRED/ADVANTAGEOUS
- SAP Experience
- Supermarket experience will be advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive Sales & Profitability: Maximize sales and gross profit by implementing best retail practices and ensuring top-tier merchandising.
- Stock & Cost Control: Oversee stock ordering, rotation (FIFO), and daily warehouse checks to minimize losses and ensure availability of key product lines.
- Customer Service Excellence: Promote a high standard of service by managing customer interactions, resolving complaints, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
- Operations & Compliance: Ensure adherence to PnP Service Qualities, QDVP4 standards, and Health & Safety regulations through daily inspections and compliance reporting.
- Team & Workforce Management: Oversee staff scheduling, monitor working hours and wages, and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Store Administration: Manage administrative duties, including cash office procedures and stock performance tracking, to maintain efficiency.
