QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Grade 12.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant operation as a waiter within a 4- or 5-star hotel and restaurant practice.
- Computer Literacy: MS Office, MICROS, Materials Control.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Welcome customers/guests and seat them at their designated tables, and present menus.
- Provide guests with quality service upon entrance to the restaurant outlet.
- Provide personalized guest service based on preferences and ensure an everlasting bond is created with guests.
- Ensure that mise en place levels are kept to standards.
- Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
- Present menus and provide detailed explanations of menu items, including specials and promotions.
- Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring dietary preferences or restrictions are noted and communicated to the kitchen as well as punching this in on the POS system.
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning.
- Monitor tables and respond to guests' requests for refills, additional items, or adjustments to their orders.
- Assist the host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
- Demonstrate an exceptional level of professionalism, maturity, and emotional intelligence always.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the duty station before the end of each shift in accordance with the standards.
