PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

 

To ensure the timely, accurate, and professional delivery of online store orders while providing excellent customer service and maintaining the security and integrity of products during transportation. Through efficient and reliable deliveries, the Driver contributes to a positive customer experience and supports the success of the Online Store.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4.
  • Minimum of 4 years' driving experience.
  • Valid Code C Driver's Licence.
  • Valid Public Driver's Permit (PrDP).

 

ADVANTAGEOUS

 

  • AA Professional Advanced Driving Assessment.
  • Experience as a delivery driver or messenger.
  • Knowledge of Swakopmund and surrounding areas.
  • FMCG, retail, or online delivery experience.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Delivery Operations

  • Deliver online store orders accurately and on time to customers and businesses.
  • Obtain signed proof of delivery for all deliveries.
  • Verify products against invoices and dispatch documentation before delivery.
  • Report delivery discrepancies or missing items immediately.
  • Provide customers with delivery updates via approved communication channels.

 

Customer Service

  • Deliver professional, friendly, and courteous customer service.
  • Respond appropriately to customer queries relating to deliveries.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times.
  • Build positive customer relationships through exceptional service.

 

Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle remains clean and roadworthy.
  • Adhere to all road traffic regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Safeguard products against damage, theft, or loss during transportation.

 

Logistics & Administration

  • Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
  • Communicate delays, route changes, and operational challenges to management.
  • Assist with inter-branch transfers and collection of company mail when required.
  • Contribute ideas to improve delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.

 

General Duties

  • Attend training sessions, meetings, and workshops as required.
  • Assist in other areas during operational requirements or staff shortages.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information.
