PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Take orders and serve food and beverages to patrons at tables in a dining establishment. To deliver unforgettable, unique guest experiences by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Grade 12.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant operation as a waiter within a 4* or 5* hotel and restaurant practice.
• Computer Literacy: MS Office, MICROS, Materials Control.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Welcome customers/guests and seat them at their designated tables, and present menus.
• Provide guests with quality service upon entrance to the restaurant outlet.
• Provide personalized guest service based on preferences and ensure an everlasting bond is created with guests.
• Ensure that mise en place levels are kept to standards.
• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
• Present menus and provide detailed explanations of menu items, including specials and promotions.
• Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring dietary preferences or restrictions are noted and communicated to the kitchen as well as punching this in on the POS system.
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters; take them to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Monitor tables and respond to guests' requests for refills, additional items, or adjustments to their orders.

• Assist the host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.

• Demonstrate an exceptional level of professionalism, maturity, and emotional intelligence always.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the duty station before the end of each shift in accordance with the standards.
