PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To supervise the smooth execution of banqueting, conference, and event service, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Grade 12 or Grade 11
- 3 years experience in a supervisory role within a Conference and Banqueting role
- Knowledge of room setups
- Knowledge of basic audio-visual room setups
- Experience in food & Beverage, Banqueting, Event Planning & Administration, Wedding & Conference Coordination and Booking Management
- Product knowledge and hospitality industry experience
- Knowledge of Micros/Opera will be an added advantage.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Welcome guests and monitor the overall experience to ensure the service offered creates an unforgettable, unique experience.
- Address guest complaints and requests promptly or escalate to the restaurant manager or supervisor if necessary.
- Ensure waitrons check that guest bills are correctly compiled and presented to the guest in the established manner.
- Maintain the TLV (temperature, lights, and volume) to ensure guest experiences of luxury standards.
- Ensure that standards for service delivery and hygiene requirements are consistently maintained in banqueting venues and outlets.
- Oversee the preparation and stocking of service stations by banqueting waitrons at the start of service, ensuring they remain clean and orderly throughout.
- Assist with taking orders, serving food and drinks, and seating guests.
- Ensure waitrons are knowledgeable about menu items, including buffet and set options, to effectively inform and assist guests.
- Maintain complete knowledge of daily scheduled group functions, hotel function spaces, meeting and banquet room settings, equipment use, and safety guidelines.
- Ensure restaurant layout and table allocations are correct prior to service.
- Inspect the pre-set scheduled function areas/rooms for cleanliness, working condition, and proper furniture/equipment setup; rectify any deficiencies with respective departments.
- Assist employees with their job functions where needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards for guests.
- Ensure that the billing procedure and payment are correct and adhered to.
- Assist in maintaining budgeted food and beverage costs and partake in stock takes for both beverage and operating equipment.
- Check and replenish supplies, establish par levels, and ensure proper organization and cleanliness in storage areas.
