QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Grade 12 with English and Mathematics.
- 2 years of experience in a restaurant operation as a hostess of service is required.
- Beverage/wine knowledge
- Knowledge of Micros/Opera will be an advantage
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Welcome guests upon arrival and acknowledge each guest with a smile and a friendly verbal greeting in line with the sequence of service.
- Any handling of payment. Transaction credit, cash, vouchers, and room charge.
- Assist guests in finding suitable seating arrangements based on their preferences and group size.
- Manage waitlists during peak hours, ensuring efficient turnover of tables.
- Handle all guest complaints in a courteous and professional manner and provide feedback to the guest.
- Coordinate dining reservations for lunch or dinner through ResDiary or manual systems.
- Verify daily in-house guests for any complimentary meals and communicate with waitstaff accordingly.
- Maintain product knowledge and provide guests with information about menu items, daily specials, and promotions, offering recommendations as needed.
- Liaise with waiters, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth coordination of guest seating and service
- Monitor the cashiering function of the outlet in compliance with SHS SOPs after every shift.
- Ensure that the billing procedure and payment are correct and adhered to.
- Manage the cash and cash-up procedures in line with policies & procedures.
- Promote upselling opportunities by highlighting additional menu items, beverages, or desserts to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
- Adhere to HACCP regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and HACCP policies and procedures.
