To provide laundry services (includes linen & uniforms) and ensure the efficient and high-quality laundering of guest linens, staff uniforms, and lodge linens while maintaining hygiene standards and equipment care.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Grade 12
- 1 year of housekeeping/laundry experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel/lodge or commercial laundry
- Basic knowledge of laundry chemicals and equipment operation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Check the uniforms for damages and amend, if possible; otherwise, suggest sending them to a seamstress.
- Issue fresh uniforms on a one-to-one basis, ensuring that the uniforms are of the correct size.
- Make sure delivery of linen and other items is on time and in good condition to and from the hotel.
- Receives, sorts, and double-checks conditions of all linen and uniforms, and records all outgoing and incoming from the laundry thoroughly before storing and issuing.
- Separates linen or uniforms that need repair and/or special treatment and forwards it to the tailor and/or laundry supervisor for immediate action.
- Hands over lost property to the security department, maintains the register, and ensures that it is kept safe until claimed and returned.
- Report faulty equipment, damaged garments/linens, shortages, maintenance needs, safety hazards, and problems to your supervisor.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of dryers and sort out washed laundry items.
- Inspect laundry for stains, damage, or other issues before and after the washing process.
- Ensure proper use of laundry chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Collect laundry and dry-cleaning bags from guest rooms, and ensure that the guest name, room number, and laundry pieces are listed.
- Keep track of linen and laundry supplies inventory and inform the supervisor when supplies need replenishment.
