QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Grade 12 with English and Mathematics.
- 2 years’ experience as a barman/bartender.
- Computer Literate (MS Office)
- Beverage/wine knowledge.
- Passionate about mixology, reproducing or creating cocktails taking into account the seasons, events, tastes, and trends.
- Knowledge of MICROS will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Cost of Sales and Stocktaking
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Welcome customers/guests and monitor the overall experience to ensure the service offered creates an unforgettable, unique experience.
- Conduct accurate Opening and closing stock count daily, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing the daily cleaning checklist.
- Take orders and promote beverage specials as per established standards.
- Assist with the ordering, supply, and stock management of the bar.
- Prepare mise-en-place and set up bar equipment according to standards.
- Maintain product knowledge to effectively upsell and maximize revenue.
- Monitor operating supplies to minimize spoilage and wastage.
- Ensure proper handover between morning and evening shifts.
- Ensure stock rotation takes place in the bar when new stock gets issued.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly stock takes and update the service staff and manager on daily stock.
- Ensure the proper presentation and display of premium liquor, with defined quantities on every shelf.
- Keep all bar outlets and equipment clean, tidy, and operational.
- Monitor the cashiering function of the outlet in compliance with SOPs after every shift.
- Ensure that the billing procedures and payments are accurate and adhered to.
