POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 1

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To install, maintain, and repair plumbing and heating systems, ensuring all plumbing and heating systems operate efficiently, safely, and comply with relevant regulations and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Grade 12.
• National Certificate in Plumbing and pipefitting (Level 3)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in plumbing or heating repairs in the hospitality
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and heating systems.
• A valid code B driver license.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Respond to all guest complaints regarding the maintenance of their room or public area in a timely manner.
• Carry out new project/equipment installations within expected time frames when assigned.
• Provide feedback to the manager in optimizing electrical maintenance mix.  
• Install new plumbing and heating systems as per specifications and blueprints, ensuring compliance with local regulations and codes.                   
• Conduct routine maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing and heating systems.      
• Diagnose issues, implement effective solutions, and test systems for leaks, malfunctions, or inefficiencies.                                                     
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on plumbing and heating systems.             
• Conduct regular inspections of lodge/hotel facilities, identifying areas in need of repair or improvement, and develop action plans accordingly.
• Manage the daily maintenance log, tracking work orders, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the handymen.           
• Offer training and support to enhance the handyman's skills and knowledge.
• Assist the manager in preparing monthly timesheets and reports on maintenance operations.
