QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Grade 12.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a restaurant operation as a waiter within a 4-star or 5-star hotel and restaurant practice.
- Computer Literacy: MS Office
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Welcome customers/guests and seat them at their designated tables and present menus.
- Provide guests with quality service upon entering the restaurant outlet.
- Provide personalized guest service based on preferences and ensure an everlasting bond is created with guests.
- Maintain a friendly attitude; welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile and a friendly verbal greeting in line with the sequence of service.
- Recommend meals and drinks in accordance with customer preferences
- Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring dietary preferences or restrictions are noted and communicated to the kitchen as well as punching this in on the POS system
- Communicate dining or order details to the kitchen staff to ensure that orders are prepared correctly and delivered in a timely manner.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
- Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
- Process payments accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and electronic payments as needed.
- Printing bills and processing of bill payments (cash & card)
- Monitor tables and respond to guests' requests for refills, additional items, or adjustments to their orders.
- Process of takeaway orders as well as preparation thereof.
