PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Take orders and serve food and beverages to customers. To deliver an unforgettable, unique guest experience, take orders, serve food and beverages, and ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Grade 12.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant operation as a waiter within a 4- or 5-star hotel and restaurant practice.
• Computer Literacy: MS Office
• Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Welcome customers/guests and seat them at their designated tables, and present menus.
• Own and Live the O&L persona, anchored in “caring, passionate, authentic”.
• Provide guests with quality service upon entrance to the restaurant outlet.
• Provide personalized guest service based on preferences and ensure an everlasting bond is created with guests.
• Maintain a friendly attitude, welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, and offer a friendly verbal greeting in line with the sequence of service.
• Recommend meals and drinks in accordance with customer preferences
• Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring dietary preferences or restrictions are noted and communicated to the kitchen as well as punching this in on the POS system
• Communicate dining or order details to the kitchen staff to ensure that orders are prepared correctly and delivered in a timely manner. 
• Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and temperature. 
• Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. 
• Process payments accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and electronic payments as needed. 
• Print bills and process of bill payments (cash & card). 
• Monitor tables and respond to guests' requests for refills, additional items, or adjustments to their orders. 
• Process of take-away orders as well as preparation thereof.
