PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

 

To deliver an unforgettable, unique guest experience during banquets, conferences, and events, including presenting menus, taking orders, setting up venues, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum Grade 12.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant operation as a waiter within a 4- or 5-star hotel and restaurant practice.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.

           

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Provide personalized guest service based on preferences and ensure an ever-lasting bond is created with guests.
  • Maintain the TLV (temperature, lights, and volume) to ensure guest experiences of luxury standards.
  • Set up conference venues according to guest itineraries and ensure timely service of breaks and meals.
  • Set up audio-visual equipment for events.
  • Ensure coffee/tea breaks are timely set up and refreshed as needed.
  • Set up rooms per client requirements across various sites.
  • Set up service areas based on the booking sheet.
  • Assist in serving guests and setting up banquet rooms with necessary glassware, service ware, and linen.
  • Serve beverages and food in the proper order, ensuring consistency and adherence to the supervisor's expectations.
  • Present menus and take orders from guests at conferences, ensuring accurate and timely entry on Micros.
  • Address guest inquiries confidently by having comprehensive knowledge of menu items, preparation methods, and daily specials.
  • Maintain beverage service and guest satisfaction throughout the event.
  • Efficiently clear dishes as guests finish each course.
  • Ensure that the billing procedure and payment are correct and adhered to.
