PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To control the overall operation of the Bakery department by coordinating and facilitating the production of fresh and quality products, maintaining recipe adherence, hygiene and food safety standards and promoting excellent customer service in order to achieve profitability.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- National Senior Level Certificate / Grade 12 Certificate OR
- NQF Level 4, and 3 years’ experience at a Bakery or confectionery level with Prior experience in a supervisory role of at least 1 year.
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Higher Certificate OR
- NQF level 5, and 2 years’ experience at a Bakery or Confectionery level.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Utilize the available resources effectively to attain monthly budgeted turnover results for the department.
- Responsible for the effective preparation for the stock take and liaise with the Administrative Controller during such stock taking preparations.
- Control the stock rotation processes.
- Control the overall quality of products and expired stock.
- Submit orders and receive stock on time.
- Implement, apply and monitor QDVP4 standards within the whole department.
- Prepare and timeously present all specialties and display in an attractive manner.
- Accountable for the production schedules and determine volumes required.
- Responsible for opening the Bakery Section in the morning and evening to allow production shifts to start.
- Maintain Housekeeping and Health and Safety standards continuously.
