PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To produce a variety of high‑quality and fresh meat products by cutting, preparing, and processing meat according to required standards and production recipes, ensuring customer satisfaction and contributing to store profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• National Senior Level Certificate (Gr 11/12 / NQF Level 4).
• Minimum 1 year Blockman/meat cutting, classification, and deboning experience.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Technical Certificate in Meat Cutting / Classification & Deboning.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Customer Orders

• Receive and prepare customer orders accurately and on time.
• Assist customers with enquiries regarding cuts, preparation methods, and product use.

Preparation of Meat Products

• Perform quality checks before offloading meat.
• Cut, prepare, and issue meat products timeously according to production requirements.
• Ensure correct defrosting procedures and product availability.
• Maintain high product quality and adhere to production recipes.

Stock Control

• Monitor and control stock levels.
• Take out, prepare, and organise stock for the next day.
• Conduct regular stock takes and submit stock orders timeously.

Housekeeping, Health & Safety

• Comply with all butchery health & safety regulations.
• Clean and maintain equipment and ensure regular servicing.
• Maintain hygiene standards and ensure all work areas are kept clean daily (“clean as you go”).

General & Ad Hoc

• Uphold confidentiality of company documents and trade secrets.
• Assist in other areas when required.
• Attend meetings, stocktakes, training sessions, and workshops.
• Comply with all company policies, processes, and operational standards.
