PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The position is responsible for promoting positive employee-employer relationships and ensuring a harmonious and productive work environment within the organisation. They serve as a mediator, advocate, and facilitator, addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and supporting a culture of fairness, compliance, and effective communication.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology, specialising in Labour Relations.
- 5 years’ relevant experience within Employee Relations
- In depth knowledge and experience in Industrial Relations and the Namibian Labour Act.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts and disputes, ensuring a fair and constructive resolution for all parties involved.
- Promote open and transparent communication between employees and management, fostering trust and cooperation.
- Educate employees on company policies, procedures, and relevant labor laws, and ensure compliance to minimize potential disputes and legal issues.
- Plan and deliver training programs to equip employees with the skills and knowledge necessary for their roles, and assist in career development, such Chairing, and Initiating a Disciplinary Hearings.
- Stay up to date with labor laws and regulations to ensure the organization's adherence, reducing legal risks.
- Provide guidance to both the employee facing disciplinary action and the management team regarding the disciplinary process, its steps, and the rights and responsibilities of all parties involved.
- Ensure that the disciplinary process is compliant with the organization's policies and procedures, as well as the Namibian labor laws and regulations, to maintain fairness and legal adherence.
- Maintain detailed records of the disciplinary hearing proceedings, including notes, evidence, and statements, which may be needed for future reference or legal purposes.
- Stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations, ensuring company-wide compliance.
- Support HR audits and compliance reporting as required.
- Assist in the implementation and communication of all ER related policies and procedures
