PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Supervise and control various aspects of the production process to ensure optimal utilization of manpower and equipment, reaching optimal productivity levels at all times and meeting set targets.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 with Certificate in food/ lean manufacturing or related fields.
• Knowledge of BRC, ISO 9000 and 14000 family of standards.
•  Maximum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Plan, organize and control the production process in such a way that optimal results can be achieved
• Delegate functions to subordinates to ensure efficiency in the production process
• Control the usage of the cost items such as the consumables, packaging materials, protective clothing and overtime
• Enforce “Good manufacturing practices”, HACCP and BRC approved practices, Health and Safety rules, First in First Out practices as well as all other company rules, policies and practices
• Check that the products are processed according to company/customer specifications.
• Be pro-active in respect to preventative maintenance and reports equipment irregularities and failures to the technical team to avoid unnecessary delays and losses
• Check that equipment is handled in the correct way and that damaged or sub-standard equipment is replaced.
• Understand calculate and report performance based on efficiency and yield.
• Ensure quantities produced according to the Fish Utilization Plan (FUP)
