PURPOSE
To manage and optimise the operations of the Bakery, Everyday Café, and Hot Pot departments by ensuring high-quality food production, strong operational standards, and excellent customer service to drive profitability and growth.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in bakery, café, food service, or hospitality environment
- Minimum 1–2 years’ supervisory experience
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Diploma/Degree in Hospitality, Food Services, or Retail Management
- Experience with stock control, ordering, and systems (ARCH / POS)
- Food safety and hygiene knowledge
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Service Delivery
- Oversee food preparation, bakery products, café offerings, and hot pot production
- Ensure products meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards
- Manage production schedules and volumes
Stock Management & Merchandising
- Control stock levels, ordering, and receiving
- Ensure FIFO principles and minimise waste
- Maintain merchandising and QDVP4 standards
Sales & Performance
- Drive departmental sales and profitability
- Manage shrinkage, waste, and gross profit
- Ensure strong product availability and promotions
Customer Experience
- Deliver excellent customer service across all departments
- Resolve customer queries professionally
- Promote product knowledge within the team
People Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and develop team members
- Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and performance
- Promote teamwork and accountability
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Monitor equipment, temperature controls, and cleaning schedules
- Maintain safe working environment
