Purpose:
To assist the Fleet Coordinator in safely and accurately perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles to the highest level of workmanship and quality to satisfy the needs and requirements of our internal clients (Business Units).
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in the Maintenance and Repair of commercial & light vehicles
- Assist the Fleet Coordinator with repair and maintenance tasks.
- Responsible for ensuring all company vehicles are serviced and maintained in a roadworthy condition and in accordance with company policies.
- Run basic diagnostic tests on vehicles in fleet.
- Execute servicing of vehicles in accordance with maintenance procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicles serviced
- Ensure correct parts are installed on jobs allocated to assist.
- Assist with the stripping and assembling of equipment and parts.
- Clean parts.
- Check vehicle lighting systems
- Ensure work area is always clean.
- Ensure all equipment, machines and tools are cleaned after use and stored.
- Assist with washing and cleaning of vehicles when needed.
- Repairs, panel beats or replaces any spray paint damaged areas to panels of vehicles. Removes rust from metal.
- Ensure that personal toolbox is in safe working condition.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Grade 12
- N1 or similar trade certificate
- 2 – 3 years practical experience on light mobile equipment and commercial vehicles in a construction or mining environment.
- Sound mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance & repairs
- Drivers Licence Code CE Drivers Licence.
- Forklift Licence
