Purpose of Position:
The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, execution, control, and delivery of corrosion protection projects, with a specific focus on surface preparation, blasting, painting, and scaffolding activities. To position Kraatz as a trusted technical authority in corrosion protection, through the outsourcing of specialist coating inspection services, the development of future technical capability.

Qualifications/Key Requirements:
- Relevant technical qualification in Corrosion Protection / Coatings Technology / Mechanical/ Chemical /Industrial Engineering
- Trade-based qualification with strong coatings and corrosion specialization
- 10+ years’ experience in coating and corrosion control environment
- Experience in industrial, marine, oil & gas, mining, or renewable energy projects
- AMPP/NACE Coating Inspector (Level 2 or 3)
- SSPC/ISO coating and corrosion control environments / Project Management certification
Key Accountabilities:
Project Execution,Control, Technical Authority & Quality Assurance
- Plan, execute, and manage corrosion protection projects from mobilisation to final acceptance
- Develop and manage project execution plans, method statements and ITPS and quality documentation
- Coordinate blasting, painting, scaffolding, and inspection activities
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
- Act as the technical authority for surface preparation standards, coating system application and environmental controls and inspections
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, international standrads, Kraatz quality requirements
- Manage NCRs, corrective actions, and final close-out documentation
Contractor,Workforce Management & Client Interface & Reporting
- Lead and coordinate coating crews, blasting teams and scaffolding contractors
- Ensure correct allocation of resources, equipment, and consumables
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, and safety performance
- Drive training, competence, and discipline on site
- Act as a primary point of contract for clients on corrosion protection scope
- Attend progress meetings, inspections, audits, and walk-downs
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, quality and close-out dossiers
- Support tendering and technical input for future projects where required
HSSE Leadership
- Enforce strict compliance with HSSE standards and procedures
- Ensure safe execution of confined space work, working at height (scaffolding), blasting and coating operations and lead toolbox talks, safety meetings and incident investigations
Third Party Coating Inspection Services
- Act as a third-party / independent coating and corrosion inspector, outsourced by Kraatz to external companies and clients
- Represent Kraatz as a neutral, competent, and standards-driven technical authority
- Perform independent coating inspections, audits of surface preparation and application practices
- Compliance assessments against international standards and client specifications
- Issue technical inspections and reports, non-conformance findings and corrective recommendations and acceptance and release documentation where mandated
- Protect Kraatz professional reputation through ethical conduct and technical impartiality and enforce standards
Industry and National Skills Contribution
- Assist the National Qualifications Authority (NQA) and relevant industry bodies with development of curriculum content, review of qualification standards
- Provide subject-matter expertise aligned to international best practice, local industry needs, safety and quality expectations
- Contribute to the prefessionalisation of corrosion protection within the national skills framework
- Enhance Kraatz visinility and credibility as an industry thought leader
People management and leadership duties
- Provide clear instructions and leadership to project teams
- Promote accountability, consistency, and high performance
- Mentor and develop junior inpectors, supervisors, and technicians
- Manage discipline, grievances, and performnace in line with company policies
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
