Purpose of Position
Responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and analyses to verify conformance to industry standards and customer specifications to uphold stringent quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years related industry experience (engineering and manufacturing)
- Minimum Grade 12
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and techniques is highly desirable.
Competencies
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Knowledge of quality control methodologies, tools, and techniques, including statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections and tests
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Key Focus Areas
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), to accurately measure and assess product dimensions and tolerances.
- Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, including ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), and radiographic testing (RT), as required
- Execute functional tests and performance evaluations on equipment and systems to validate functionality and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to address quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify the underlying causes of quality discrepancies and implement effective solutions
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
