Purpose of the Position:
To oversee the security operations within the company to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and property. Responsible for supervising the security team, managing CCTV operations, and responding to incidents and emergencies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Security Risk Management
- 5 years' security operational experience (2 years at supervisory level)
- Knowledge of crime investigations and security systems
- Certificate of Good Conduct
- Valid driver's license
- Experience in contractor management
- Advantageous: Background in security, law enforcement, or military
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor closed circuit video system, observe and record activities of any suspicious activities, cashier cage, vault, count room, and other areas to identify cheating, stealing, embezzlement or other potential problems.
- Oversee CCTV operations to monitor and document incidents.
- Record and document procedure infractions, thefts, and other suspicious activities.
- Conduct or assign Close Watch and special surveillance tasks as necessary
- Handle communication with Security contractor and management during the shift.
- Forward all reports to the Manager and recommend Close Watch on suspicious personnel.
- Determine whether additional surveillance will be required to enhance security measures.
- Co-ordinate first line maintenance and repairs to product detectors through the utilization of the services of instrumentation technicians and applicable contractors, including the covert installations of security equipment/apparatus.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when required.
- Stay abreast of theft modus operandi in order to be proactive in combating theft, loss etc.
- Maintain an effective security recording, administration and filing system.
- Assess weekly and monthly Contractor performance and complete the agreed service performance monthly report.
- Conduct risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced; outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards.
- Review the Standard Operating Procedures and Policies on a regular basis.
