Purpose of Position:
To assist in the planning, organization and controlling of the main Workshop Stores activities according to defined procedures to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
Qualifications/Key Requirements:
- Grade 12 with English, Math and Science
- Minimum 2 – 3 years’ practical stores experience.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office
- Valid drivers license
- Receive stock and non-stock items from suppliers according to internal procedures
- Capture all stock received from suppliers on system-Goods Receipt
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of critical stock items i.e. welding consumables, PPE & Gasses
- Report daily stock losses or damages to Procurement Officer
- Keep stock in the right order for smooth removal out of the store
- Perform periodic stock and tool count in conjunction with the Procurement Officer
- Prepare electronic stock requisitions on SAP for approval and replenishment
- Issue PPE to staff members & complete PPE forms
- Issue stock for projects & capture requisitions on system- Goods Issue
- Assist other business units with day-to-day operations- Only stores & stock related
- Manage stock rotation-FIFO
- Issue & receive tools and capture these on the SAP tool system
- Maintain accurate record of all stock collected and/or issued
- Responsible for ensuring that all material in store is recorded on SAP and that it is captured correctly
- Verify all relevant documentation and complete invoices, load sheets, delivery notes etc. before capturing on SAP
- Check all invoices in terms of quantity, prices and correctness with purchase order
- Must perform Goods Receipt & Goods Issue function on SAP
- Prepare handwritten requisitions for non-stock items
- Maintain PPE, Laundry & tool management systems
- Filing of documentation must be done regularly, orderly and neat
- Attend to any additional tasks to general workflow as and when it may arise
- Communicate with Procurement Officer on more complex and difficult storekeeping issues
- Attend to reasonable requests made by Procurement Officer or Procurement Manager
- Always keep the store accessible and clean and maintain housekeeping
- Stack & store material to prevent damage, accidents or delays in searching and easy access to material
- Keep all gates and doors locked and secured at all time
- Complete “5 Steps” safety task observation.
- Complete risk assessment with your team on site.
- Ensure safety incidents are correctly reported, investigated and findings implemented.
- Execute toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Adhere to company and/or client legislative Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
- Responsible for the overall safety of employees.
- Apply and encourage good housekeeping practices.
