Purpose of the role:

The position is responsible for overseeing the engineering workshop/s and the planning and scheduling function across industrial projects . Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role ensures strategic alignment of workshop and Industrial  related project execution, resource utilization, and workshop productivity. The role combines high-level planning oversight with hands-on operational leadership of the engineering workshop to deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Mastery of concepts and principles of a specialist field (ie technical engineering)                    
Ability to manage other professionals in this field                        
Detailed knowledge of O&L Breakthrough Strategy and Culture is required.                    
Must be able to apply knowledge of O&L Breakthrough Strategy and Behaviours in formulating processes, practices, systems, initiatives for a Functional unit in order to inspire breakthrough outcomes                        
Networking, Relationship management                        
Interpersonal skills, conflict management, Emotional intelligence                        
Proven experience in managing both project planning and workshop operations.                        
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.                        
Strong expertise in MS Project, Excel, and ERP (SAP) systems.                        
Familiar with shutdowns, brownfield projects, and multi-discipline project coordination.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree  / (NQF level 7) / N6 National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience:

6-8 years experience of which min 3 years on managerial level
