PURPOSE OF POSITION

The accountant will be responsible for the management and control of key financial accounting functions, including financial reporting, cash flow management, taxation, budgeting, fixed assets, debtors and creditors oversight, and statutory compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial governance, support business performance, and provide critical financial insights to management and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting with 3-5 years' Financial Accounting experience 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• SAP experience will be advantageous

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports within prescribed deadlines.
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Conduct variance analyses and provide financial insights to stakeholders.
• Manage and reconcile banking transactions and trust accounts.
• Monitor cash flow requirements and support effective cash management.
• Coordinate VAT, withholding tax, and other taxation submissions and payments.
• Review creditor reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely supplier payments.
• Manage debtor collections and monitor age analyses.
• Assist with annual budgeting processes and budget reporting.
• Administer fixed asset accounting, reconciliations, additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Perform year end (Financial statements preparation) and Half year reporting as per instructions from Corporate Finance.
• Coordinate external and internal audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
