PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To assist with the maintenance and repair of all electronic, electrical and mechanical plant machinery and equipment, according to planned maintenance modules and ad-hoc machine breakdowns, in order to support production efficiencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Grade 12
  • 2 years’ practical experience in a similar field
  • N1 Certificate refrigeration/Electrical /Millwright/Instrumentation/Welding will be advantageous


    KEY JOB OUTPUTS:
  • Support Artisan Maintenance with weekly and monthly inspections of machines, equipment, and factory infrastructure
  • Assist with the repair and servicing of machinery in line with Preventative Maintenance (PM) modules and service manuals
  • Perform accurate fault finding on machinery using operator feedback and machine manuals
  • Identify, analyse, and report root causes of electrical and mechanical breakdowns
  • Assist with repairing or replacing faulty parts and escalate issues to the Technical Manager when required
  • Maintain and repair cold rooms and freezer rooms to ensure optimal performance
  • Repair cable damages and water leakages, reporting deviations to the Utilities Technician
  • Maintain generator rooms and ensure all equipment is kept in good working order
  • Record and maintain accurate daily water and electricity metering data
  • Maintain company infrastructure through planned inspections, audits, and corrective actions
  • Ensure proper housekeeping within boiler houses and refrigeration plants
  • Monitor boiler fuel levels and report any deviations
  • Assist with new engineering projects and equipment installations within assigned timelines
  • Ensure machines are switched off and locked out before maintenance or repairs
  • Report all safety incidents and adhere strictly to health, safety, and food safety procedures
  • Wear prescribed PPE at all times and follow OEM safety guidelines during maintenance
  • Safely pack, store, and maintain tools and equipment after use
  • Maintain cleanliness across operational areas and lead apprentices in workshop housekeeping
