PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  

The role is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, repair, maintenance, and monitoring of dairy processing equipment, including the UHT Processing Plant, CIP Systems, and Fresh Processing Plant. It involves managing preventative and corrective maintenance, reducing machinery breakdowns, and ensuring equipment remains fully operational to meet production targets and quality standards. The role also manages contractors and service level agreements, oversees spare parts and resources, drives process optimization projects, and develops, implements, and maintains automation networks across factory equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

•    National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Millwright
•    5 years’ experience and in-depth knowledge of processing equipment, and PLC/HMi systems. (Siemens)
•    BE (Code 08) Drivers License
•    Knowledge of SAP modules

KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

•    Implement preventative maintenance schedules and corrective maintenance plans to maintain equipment reliability and operational performance and continuity.            
•    Maintain and monitor the Processing Plant, CIP Systems, and Fresh Processing Plant equipment to ensure operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
•    Drive the implementation of corrective actions and preventive maintenance measures based on PMS feedback to optimize asset efficiency and minimize downtime.        
•    Conduct regular inspections and performance checks on Processing Equipment (UHT & Fresh Factory) to identify and address any issues proactively, minimizing the risk of equipment failure and downtime.
•    Support all direct and indirect process automation projects across the factory.
•    Implement and maintain all automation networks and backups                 
•    Lead troubleshooting efforts to address technical issues promptly and effectively.
•    Conduct benchmarking of maintenance KPIs and work practices against other plants in the group (or other external operations as agreed) and implement best practices.    
•    Identify opportunities for cost savings through energy efficiency improvements, process optimization, and maintenance strategies.                        
•    Oversee stock management in the department                         
•    Execute asset management practices in accordance with the budget set by the Technical Maintenance Manager, prioritizing spending to maximize value and return on investment. 
•    Generate work orders and reserve parts on SAP PM for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities on a day-to-day basis.
•    Investigate and report on unresolved maintenance challenges, conducting root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and implement corrective actions.        
•    Provide reports in accordance with the metrics agreed, accurately and timely for business decision making and continuous improvement.              
•    Implement an action plan by providing feedback on PMS (Plant Maintenance Schedules) & PLMS data.                         
•    Ensure checklists are in place, recorded and filed (soft and hard copies) for audit purposes.    
•    Monitor and document changes in calibration parameters to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.                       
•    Allocate and supervise the work of the team during maintenance                
•    Implement a program with the support of HR to ensure effective skill transfer for the team.
•    Facilitate corrective actions through disciplinary processes and ensure employee conflicts are alleviated and amicable solutions are reached.         
•    Ensure that maintenance and repair activities comply with HACCP, OSH and SHE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.                         
•    Adhere to ISO procedures to maintain ISO accreditation and ISO audit report.
