PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To perform the overall operations within the Butchery by implementing the required standards and provide excellent customer service for the profitability of the Shop & Bistro.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Grade 12 Certificate OR Grade 10 certificate with 2 years customer service experience in a retail environment.
  • Knowledge of Food Preparation and Food Handling will be advantageous

KEY JOB OUTPUTS:

  • Fast, friendly, and effective customer service delivered in line with operational standards
  • Accurate product knowledge applied to customer enquiries, usage guidance, and pricing
  • Customers informed of current promotions and provided with promotional materials
  • Clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing displays maintained at all times
  • Store rooms and cold rooms kept organised, hygienic, and compliant with standards
  • Product quality standards consistently maintained across bulk and display items
  • Correct price stickers placed and updated in line with pricing standards and expiry dates
  • Price accuracy ensured through regular checks against the price change register
  • All products confirmed to scan correctly at point of sale
  • Promotional items clearly marked with flashes
  • Speciality products prepared and presented attractively and on time
  • Customer orders prepared accurately and within required timeframes
  • Stocktake readiness ensured and participation in scheduled stocktakes
  • High standards of housekeeping, food safety, and hygiene consistently upheld
  • Compliance with deli health and safety regulations at all times
  • Equipment operated at correct temperatures and cleaned, maintained, and serviced as required
  • Safe shutdown of gas and electrical appliances at close of business
  • All work areas cleaned and left in a hygienic condition daily
  • Confidential documents and trade secrets safeguarded
  • Reasonable management requests carried out efficiently
  • Incidents, losses, or contraventions reported and addressed appropriately
  • Active participation in meetings, training, and development activities
  • Operational support provided across departments during absences or emergencies
  • Full compliance with company policies, procedures, and operating standards
