PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

 

To execute accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payment collection, accurate financial reconciliation, and resolution of customer queries. Facilitate adherence to credit policies and support organizational financial health and efficiency.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, debt collection, or a related financial role.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including credit policies and account reconciliations.
  • Experience working with accounting software and systems, such as SAP will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of TAX Laws

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Drive effective debt collection by proactively managing the debtors' book, reducing overdue accounts, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments.
  • Maintain accurate debtor accounts by performing regular reconciliations and ensuring all transactions, payments, and credits are correctly allocated.
  • Manage customer credit by processing credit applications, conducting credit checks, and supporting sound credit control practices.
  • Ensure accurate accounts receivable administration by processing invoices, receipts, direct deposits, and month-end billings in a timely manner.
  • Monitor debtor ageing by maintaining accurate ageing reports, investigating outstanding balances, and providing clear commentary on overdue accounts.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by resolving debtor queries promptly and maintaining positive relationships with customers.
  • Support financial reporting by preparing monthly debtor statements, intercompany confirmations, and other accounts receivable reports within agreed deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance and documentation by ensuring complete, accurate, and well-organized records in accordance with company policies and financial controls.
