PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  

To support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant, equipment, and facilities by carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities throughout the year, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with electrical safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

•    Grade 12 
•    Trade Certificate or equivalent
•    Valid Wireman’s Licence
•    5 years’ experience in an industrial or plant environment 

KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

•    Perform routine and planned electrical maintenance on plant, machinery, and infrastructure.
•    Diagnose electrical faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
•    Install, test, and commission electrical equipment, motors, control panels, and wiring.
•    Support continuous operational efficiency by ensuring reliable electrical systems year round.
•    Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance programs.
•    Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential failures.
•    Maintain electrical equipment in line with manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
•    Ensure all electrical work complies with national electrical regulations, company standards, and safety procedures.
•    Promote safe working practices, including proper lock out / tag out procedures.
•    Maintain high standards of housekeeping in electrical and plant areas.
•    Maintain accurate maintenance records, fault logs, and inspection reports.
•    Report recurring faults, safety risks, or system inefficiencies to the Technical Manager
•    Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical reliability and efficiency.
