PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To execute the Facilities Management Department (FMD) technical operations of the client in line with plan, quality and cost saving objectives and annual targets, with a vision that consistently ensures Broll becomes the Namibian market leader for Facilities Management services. The Facilities Manager will oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of our own and external facilities. To ensure that buildings, equipment, assets and infrastructure are well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and optimized for sustainability.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field
- 5 years or more proven experience in facilities and maintenance management
- Knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and compliance regulations
- Computer literate (MS Office & Systems)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Troubleshoot and resolve facilities and equipment issues across multiple property locations efficiently.
- Coordinate and manage planned preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and servicing programs for all building systems and equipment.
- Develop and oversee the facilities budget, including accurate forecasting, monitoring, and cost control measures.
- Implement and optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-saving initiatives across the portfolio.
- Conduct regular site visits and audits to inspect the quality of work performed by service providers across various disciplines.
- Manage and evaluate external contractors and vendors to ensure service quality, compliance, and value for investment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including tenants, suppliers, and contractors, while managing service level agreements and negotiating contracts.
- Ensure rapid response to facility-related emergencies, minimizing disruption to tenants and internal operations.
- Prepare and submit internal reports, including weekly activity updates, monthly management reports, and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of facilities personnel to ensure high performance and service standards.
- Conduct and coordinate compliance audits to ensure all properties meet health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
