Purpose
As the Financial Director (FD), the primary purpose is overseeing the financial operations of Hartlief, ensuring financial health, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The incumbent will manage all financial aspects, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and investment activities. The incumbent will be responsible for driving and owning the O&L Persona throughout Hartlief.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Chartered Accountant or an MBA with Finance as a first degree.
- 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting and risk management.
- Experience in managing financial operations in a similar industry is preferred.
- Experience navigating complex business environments and managing organizational change.
- Extensive experience in corporate governance, strategic planning, and executive leadership.
- Strong understanding of the FMCG industry.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the Company’s goals and objectives.
- Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the Opcos strategic plan.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Executive Committee.
- Make informed and strategic decisions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks.
- Manage and oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
- Oversee cash flow management, ensuring liquidity to meet the Company’s operational needs.
- Oversee fundraising activities, including capital raising and securing financing.
- Evaluate and advise on the financial implications of potential business ventures and partnerships.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard the Opcos assets.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including tax laws, accounting standards, and corporate governance.
- Oversee risk management processes, identifying financial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Manage the Opcos investment portfolio, ensuring optimal returns while managing risk.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Foster collaboration and effective communication within the finance team and across the Opco.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of finance staff.
- Manage relationships with shareholders, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, board members, employees, and external partners.
