PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for evaluating innovation investment proposals from operating companies and external parties, tracking returns against forecasts, and reporting on project performance post-implementation. The role also supports due diligence on target companies, assists operating entities with benchmarking operational indicators, and contributes to the evaluation of strategic projects across the group.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A relevant postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) is an added advantage.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of key finance functions with the ability to apply technical knowledge effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including financial modelling and business case development.
- Experience in evaluating capital investments, business acquisitions, and conducting due diligence is advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Projects (Innovation Investment & ROI Initiatives)
- Provide financial input and perform complex calculations to assess project feasibility across the group.
- Identify and unlock synergies across group companies.
- Compile gate papers and decision papers for strategic initiatives.
- Develop business case models, detailed financial reports, and recommend optimal financial structures for investments and acquisitions.
- Support efforts to secure funding for projects and acquisitions.
Mergers & Acquisitions
- Compile business cases, ROI analyses, and synergy assessments to evaluate potential investments and target companies.
- Conduct initial feasibility studies, assess financial position, and evaluate quality of earnings.
- Perform financial due diligence and coordinate legal and operational due diligence processes.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings, including SWOT analysis.
Reporting
- Track, monitor, and report on investment performance at regular intervals post-implementation or acquisition.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct market and industry research to support investment decisions and benchmarking.
- Identify investment opportunities and process improvements based on best practices and market insights.
