PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To support the efficient operation of the Fruit & Veg department by maintaining merchandising standards, ensuring accurate pricing, delivering excellent customer service, and contributing to store profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 11/12 (National Senior Certificate).
• Minim of 2 years retail experience.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Knowledge of retail operations, FIFO, and handling fruit & vegetable products.
• Customer Service Experience.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Merchandising

• Collect stock from cold rooms and pack shelves according to set standards.
• Rotate stock using FIFO principles and ensure proper storage.
• Keep shelves, displays, and cold rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain QDVP4 standards and bulk displays.

Pricing

• Place correct price stickers on all products.
• Check price change registers and update labels when required.
• Ensure all barcodes scan correctly at the tills.
• Display promotional flashes on promotional and seasonal lines.

Sales & Customer Service

• Provide fast, friendly, and effective service.
• Assist customers with product enquiries, usage, and pricing.
• Share promotions and product knowledge with customers.

Preparation of Specialties

• Prepare and present instore valued items attractively.
• Prepare customer orders timeously.

Stocktaking

• Prepare for and participate in scheduled stock takes.

General Duties

• Maintain confidentiality of company information.
• Assist in other departments during shortages or busy periods.
• Attend required meetings, training, workshops, or seminars.
• Report and assist in handling incidents or irregularities.
