PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  

 

To assist with testing and recording of laboratory and system results, reporting of out of specification results, stock control and the overall administration of laboratory documents in compliance to the Namibia Dairies and ISO quality standards.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

 

•    Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years relevant Laboratory experience.
•    Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in laboratory process and product testing knowledge.
 
KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

 

•    Assist Laboratory Technicians and Quality Controllers with testing all samples as per sampling plan and specific work instruction per area.
•    Recording all sample results timeously on the data sheet.
•    Daily recording of temperatures of: incubators, water baths, fridges  (UHT and quality cooler) and freezer (cultures).
•    Daily verification of scales, Cryoscope and refractometer.
•    Assist with chemistry testing of juice and milk – incoming, in process and finished product.
•    Assist with chemistry testing of juice and milk – incoming, in process and finished product.
•    Report on out of spec results after testing to Supervisor Laboratory
•    Re sample all out of spec results and report immediately to Supervisor Laboratory.  
•    Complete and file lab results, check sheets, calibration and verification forms.
•    Render support during the Implementation and improvement of Quality Control processes
•    Inspect quality storage to monitor effective implementation of FIFO in order to minimize material stock losses.
